Coaches Responsibilities

Specific Responsiblities
|
- Instructs, encourages, and models the objectives of good sportsmanship.
- Conducts weekly practices, which include emphasis on fundamentals, rules, game strategies, and offensive and defensive drills.
- Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment.
- Maintains open lines of communication with players and parents.
- Maintains dicipline and works to insure strong morale and cooperation among players.
- Provides a safe physical enviornment.
- Responsible for post-game field maintenance at Roosevelt field including raking the pitcher's mound, home plate and base areas as well as cleaning out dugouts and locking all gates and doors.
- Monitors proper conduct and behavior on all overnight trips (i.e. tournaments).
- Draws up a list of team rules and expectations to be administered to each player and parent (i.e. practice requirements, profane language, throwing of equipment - refer to Code of Conduct).
- All baseball coaches in the Oconomowoc Select Baseball program are expected to model the behaviors expected of all participating players. Complaints regarding the questionable behavior of any coach will be monitored by the Coaches' Committee of the Oconomowoc Area Baseball Club.
- Attend a pre-season clinic.
- Maintain open lines of communication between coaches and managers.
